About the Shining Star Gallery: These beautiful children are Kentucky’s Shining Stars, children waiting to be adopted. They may have suffered abuse or neglect in their own families. Now they’re safe, but they are still awaiting permanent, loving homes. Their greatest hope is to find their own “forever family.” That’s why they volunteered to be a part of this project.
Organizers hope these professional photographs, accompanied by each child’s biography, will enlighten audiences about adoption and its gifts. Kentucky has a growing need for more adoptive families to welcome these pictured children and hundreds more like them. The Shining Star Gallery will be traveling throughout Louisville this year.
While some may see it as risky to spotlight these children, we see a greater risk in not doing everything we can to find good homes for them.
Exhibit Specs: Wednesday’s Child staff and volunteers will set up the display at your venue to your specifications. There are up to 32 photos available. Take-home profile cards of each child are available on the display next to their portraits. The information cards include contact information for those interested in obtaining more information about adoption.
Space Requirements: Generally speaking, the Gallery works very well in a lobby-type area that garners the most foot-traffic. Display configurations vary for flexibility. See the next page for the variety of the layouts available for the Gallery.
Making Reservations: Please e-mail Wednesday’s Child at email@example.com to reserve your space. Please note, we require at least a one-week lead time from when you might want the display, availability pending.
Duration of Exhibit: We have found that to make the most impact with these children’s amazing stories and to maximize our efforts in finding them a good, forever home, that a three-to-four week display period works well. But, we are appreciative of any help you can provide to raise awareness and are happy to work with your schedule.
