When families are joined together by adoption, there is
generally a need for emotional and financial support. The
children available for adoption through Wednesday's Child
and the Special Needs Adoption Program are eligible for
many different services and programs. The families who adopt
these children often receive medical help, financial assistance,
and reimbursement for legal fees for the finalization of
the adoption. In Kentucky, children considered "special
needs" may also receive free tuition to Kentucky colleges
or vocationals school. Click on http://www.nacac.org/stateprofiles/kentucky.html

Adoption support groups are available across Kentucky.
These support groups help families as they work through
issues related to adoption and blending of a family. Wednesday's
Child, Inc., helps support our local groups by providing
funds for childcare and refreshments. To learn more click

Every year Wednesday's Child has an Adoption Family fun
day. This year at Kentucky Kingdom we had over 400 people
attend. Families received admission to the fair and a special
luncheon. The funds used for this event are received during
our annual Adopt-a-Thon held in December.
If you have a family photo and would like to submit a brief
biography please contact us at Wednesdayschild@bellsouth.net.
We are also looking for families who adopted 15-25 years
ago to do follow-ups for our 25th year anniversary.
